Web-Cam Instructions
Registering your web-cam on the web site
When a new user first registers on the web site, or completes their subscription form, they will be asked if they have a web-cam and want to receive web-cam chat requests from other members of the community. The user simply ticks a box to indicate they have a web cam. Users can turn their web-cam registration on or off by selecting or deselecting the box at any time.
Making yourself available for web-cam chats or sessions
Before anyone can contact you on your web-cam, you must make yourself available by following this process.
Click on the 'My Profile' tab on the main navigation area at the top of the page.
In the middle section of your profile page, click on the Web-Cam tab (It's between Pics and Blog).
If your web cam is on, the system will see it and automatically start. At this point your 'On-line' icon will change to a On-Web-Cam icon.
Any users who now go to the main web-cam tab on the main navigation area will see your Profile photo, listing as one of the web-cam users that are on-line now. They simply click on your profile photo to initiate a web-cam call with you in your web-cam lobby.
Using the web-cam service to talk with a user in the Lobby
Click on the Web-Cam tab on the main navigation area at the top of the page.
Select the person you wish to chat with from the list of web-cam user who are listed as 'On-Line Now'.
You will be connected to their lobby and can chat using the text box that will appear on your screen. When you are in the Lobby area, it is free to text chat. Several users can be chatting to the same person at the same time. Your username is displayed with your text entries.
Note that you have options to change the display mode and size of your screen.
Also note that the person can Kick you out their lobby, Ban you from their lobby or Report you to the site administration team if you become abusive.
People who are hosting web-cam sessions can take a break at any time and this will display a 'Taking a Break' message to all other users.
